Freixenet, the world leader in sparkling wines, makes its debut in the still wines segment with the launch in Spain of the new Freixenet Wine Collection. This new range is made up of a white wine and a rosé wine from the new “Selección Especial” (“Special Selection”) range characterized by its fresh and fruity character. The two DO Catalunya wines are now available in both supermarkets and hostelry.

This exquisite “Selección Especial” Collection concentrates the spirit of the Mediterranean: the joy of living, the daily celebrations, the shared meals and the closeness of friends and family under the warm Mediterranean sun. "Freixenet is an expert in improving all these moments by making them even more special and these wines, in essence, are a great way to take the day," explains Gabriela Rivieccio, Marketing Director in Spain of the Freixenet Group. The new wines stand out for their aromas of fruits and flowers, so they are pleasant, versatile and according to the consumer's taste. They are perfect for any time, either to accompany gastronomic delights or to enjoy them alone.

The new Freixenet wines are also characterized by their unique and iconic design, with the elegant and sophisticated image that defines the brand. Specifically, they are presented in a spectacular frosted bottle reminiscent of the emblematic Carta Nevada, a leading cava nationwide. The extensive trajectory and knowledge of the Sant Sadurní d'Anoia winery with sparkling wines will allow the company to innovate and undertake this new challenge, its first wines, with the maximum guarantees of quality, adapting to its consumers and to a changing market and in evolution.

The new white wine from Freixenet has a marked and refreshing Mediterranean character. Macabeo, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes predominate, with hints of Muscat and Xarel·lo. This pale yellow and bright wine has an intense fruity character with citrus nuances and long acidity, resulting in a fine and elegant wine that can accompany any type of food.

For its part, the rosé wine is aromatic and elegant and is bathed by the Mediterranean sun. It is a pale pink wine in which the Garnatxa grape predominates, with hints of Merlot and Tempranillo from DO Catalunya. It is a fresh wine, with a subtle aroma of berries and that offers a sensation of summer fruits in the mouth.

Pedro Ferrer, Vice President and CEO of Freixenet Group, explained that "We are very excited to introduce the Freixenet brand into the segment of still wines". "Our more than 150 years of experience making wines lead us to carry out this new and exciting launch, achieving ideal wines to continue celebrating the small and great moments of life with wine", added Ferrer.
